  • Integrating empathy as a helping tool in relationships and work;
  • Apprehending difficult situations by implementing Mr. Cohen-Emerique's critical incident method.

Program

This course is composed of 5 units

Unit 1 - Introduction to the intercultural approach

2 hours in a group in person, 1 hour individually remotely | Assessment: MCQ

  • The place of interculturality in our practices
  • A common language around the concept of interculturality

Unit 2 - Relationship to the other

3:00 in a group in person, 1:00 in individually remotely | self-assessment

  • The intercultural frame of reference
  • The origin and mechanisms of stereotypes, beliefs and prejudices

Unit 3 - Intercultural communication

4:00 in a group in person, 1:00 individually, remotely | evaluation: MCQ

  • Communication conventions in an intercultural environment
  • The main modes of communication
  • Facilitating communication strategies
  • Positive communication in an intercultural situation

Unit 4 - Ambiguity tolerance

2 hours in a group in person| self-assessment

  • What is an ambiguous situation?
  • Getting out of your comfort zone

Unit 5 - Empathy

3:00 in a group in person | Assessment: MCQ

  • Mechanisms and empathic function in groups and face-to-face
  • Empathy as a tool to help relationships and work
  • Mr. Cohen-Emerique's method of critical incidents
