In a few words...

Committed to inclusive mobility since 2015, Cap Ulysse has designed this course especially for institutions that want to make mobility opportunities abroad accessible.

Our ambition? Equiping mobility mentors with exploratory, experiential and reflective activities that they can carry out with their teams and learners before the departure.

In this way, they can open mobility opportunities to learners with visible or invisible disabilities.

  • Becoming familiar with the concept of inclusive mobility.
  • Drawing up a list of the key actors in inclusive mobilities.
  • Identifying strategies to overcome the main obstacles.
  • Finding a reliable intermediary organization in Europe and establishing a new partnership.
  • Defining your criteria to select learners.
  • Developing your Mobility Support Plan to meet the specific needs of learners and to secure their journey.
  • Organizing your preparatory visit to ensure the success of learners' mobility.
  • Knowing the role and skills of the accompanying staff.
  • Supporting, organizing, evaluating and promoting inclusive mobilities.
  • Planning accessible activities during leisure time.
  • Establishing the involved actors' monitoring and evaluation processes.

This course is composed of 6 units

Unit 1 - Introduction to inclusive mobility for learners with disabilities

  • The European project Make It Happen, at the origin of this journey
  • Key terms - definitions and glossary related to inclusion and disability

An expanded ecosystem: the main involved actors

Unit 2 - A transnational project

2 hours in a group in person | self-assessment

  • Finding a reliable intermediary organization and/or host organization
  • Formalizing a benefits agreement with an intermediary organization

Unit 3 - Learners and accompanying staff

3:00 in a group in person | self-assessment

  • Select your learners and accompanying staff
  • Define specific needs: the Mobility Support Plan

Unit 4 - Accessible and qualitative mobilities

4:00 in a group in person | self-assessment

  • Developing a Mobility Support Plan to meet the specific needs of learners.
  • Organizing a preparatory staff visit to ensure the success of learners' mobility.
  • Learning the role and skills of the helpers.
  • Designing and conducting preparatory workshops that are accessible prior to departure.
  • Finding internship locations according to specific needs.

Unit 5 - During learners' mobility

4:00 in a group in person | self-assessment

  • Defining the role of the accompanying staff.
  • Preparing for the departure day.
  • Organiinge accessible activities during leisure time.
  • Using accessible monitoring and evaluation tools (model available in 5 languages).
  • Preparing for the last few days and a safe return.

Unit 6 - After learners' mobility

2 hours in a group in person | Assessment: MCQ

  • Valuing and capitalizing on the experience of your learners.
  • Carrying out the final evaluation.
