Project Details
The Intercult project aims at training people with a migration background to become ”intercultural mediators”, and to facilitate the inclusion of migrant communities within a diverse society. Its actions will be implemented between September 2024 and February 2027.
The intercultural mediation promotes the socio-professional integration of migrants in their host country, according to Intercult's partners. The partnership proposes to train people with a migration background to become intercultural mediators so that in turn they can support adults on a migration journey and facilitate their inclusion.
The partners' goals are to:
- Identify support structures for migrant people
- Collect the best practices in intercultural mediation
- Organize discussion groups to identify the needs of intercultural mediators
- Design a specific training course on intercultural mediation
- Experiment the training twice to ensure its effectiveness
- Write a guide on the role, skills and added value of intercultural mediators with migration backgrounds
